Since the day of the organization of the department on its base, the students of the 4th and 5th courses on the subject of faculty surgery and hospital surgery, respectively, have been trained. In the period from 1979 to 1991, the students of the 6th year of the medical faculty underwent subordination in surgery at the department.

Department of Faculty and Hospital Surgery was one of the main training bases of the Republic for training surgeons in the program of primary internship and clinical residency in the specialty “Surgery”. Responsible for the academic work at the department were associate professors Kabilzhanov OF, Rasuleva MV, Kadyrov R.Yu., Ismailova DA During the years of work at the Institute, for the great contribution to the training of students, associate professors Ismailov DA. and Imamov AA were awarded the title of “Best Teacher of the Institute”.

Employees of the department and students studying actively worked in the student scientific society. In different years, the senior lecturers at the department were associate professors: Zimin GA, Ismailova DA, Imamov AA Thanks to their diligent work, the most gifted students prepared at the department repeatedly won the republican Olympiad among medical institutes, and their scientific work was usually assessed as “excellent”. In the future, many winners of the republican Olympiads continued their education at our department as clinical residents and residents. And the most gifted of them defended their thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences. At present, many associate professors and assistants working in the department were active members of the SSS in the past.

At present, students of the 4th and 5th year of the Faculty of Medicine continue to study at the Department of Faculty and Hospital Surgery. At the department, the educational process continues to improve continuously. Introduction in the educational process of the main issues reflected in the program “Reform of higher education”, the creation of educational and methodological literature on the program of faculty and hospital surgery. When teaching students, modern pedagogical technologies are used that make a great contribution to the training of highly qualified general practitioners. An invaluable contribution to the improvement of pedagogical work was provided by the creation of five thematic classrooms at the department.

These thematic cabinets cover the entire curriculum for faculty and hospital surgery. They have special banners dedicated to private matters of surgery, educational and scientific literature, computers connected to the Internet, a set of tools for conducting and mastering practical skills. The creation of thematic classrooms had a huge impact on the quality of teaching and maximally brought the teaching process closer to the practice of a general practitioner.
